Our Resort - In a Nutshell

If you have been all over the world diving, but haven't experienced diving in Roatan, you are in for a treat!

The Reef House Resort is continually chosen as one of the highest rated Scuba diving resorts on the Island of Roatan. We serve some of the best meals on the island, and all meals are included free with your stay. We provide friendly service and pleasant island style guest rooms with two queen size beds in each. You’ll have air conditioning, Internet access (optional), cable TV, private washroom with shower, ceiling fan, beautiful ocean view, and our purified drinking water is safe, plentiful, and free. Your diving experience includes spectacular diving and snorkeling with the most beautiful and unspoiled coral reef the world has to offer.

Roatan is an island 35 miles in length, located about 35 miles off the Atlantic coast of Honduras, by the Caribbean Sea, in the Gulf of Honduras. Roatan is fast becoming well known as one of the world’s premier Scuba diving and snorkeling locations. The breathtaking coral reef surrounding the Island of Roatan is part of the second largest coral reef system in the world, second only to the Great Barrier Reef of Australia. The Reef House Resort and Diving Facility is an historic, island-authentic diving resort, located on perhaps the healthiest portion of coral reef found anywhere in the world today. Professional diving photographers have raved over the beauty, condition, and splendor of the coral reef at the shore diving in front of our resort, and at all our diving locations. Very professionally run, our diving operation is the safest, yet most exciting possible.

Your dive package treats you to three boat-dives per day, one night boat-dive per week, unlimited shore diving and snorkeling – directly in front of the Reef House Resort is what some guests have described as the best snorkeling they have ever encountered. Also included is all your meals -- which by the way can be individually adjusted to suit your exact dietary needs -- accommodations, weight belts, unlimited tank-air for diving, and all the fresh, purified drinking water you desire… all included in your package. Airport pick up and return is also included with the 7 night package.

The only items not included are beverages from the bar, Honduran hotel taxes of 16%, equipment rentals, extra activities such as island excursions, and your airfare. The Island of Roatan has its own International Airport and direct flights are available from Houston, Miami, Atlanta, Newark, and during the winter, Toronto. Our Dive Resort

Our resort is a small intimate resort that is perfectly suited for serious divers. We do not have the diving traffic on our part of the island that is found on the other more crowded and commercialized areas of Roatan, therefore the reef in our dive spots is in wonderful condition.

Accommodations

The guest rooms are plantation style and connected as opposed to bungalows or cabanas. You have your own washroom with shower, satellite TV, and two very comfortable queen size beds. And after a full day of spectacular diving and a wonderful supper, a comfortable large bed completes the perfect day.

Our Most Popular Package

Our most popular package is the 7 night dive package, which includes your accommodations, three meals per day, three boat dives per day, one night dive per week, unlimited shore diving, and your transfers to and from the airport.

Prices and Packages

Most guests coming to the Reef House Resort, prefer our 7 night package. The main reason is "convenience", since direct flights from the US and Canada, are limited to weekends, mainly Saturdays. Therefore, most guests have found it the most convenient to arrive in Roatan and depart from Roatan, on Saturdays. We can certainly tailor a package to suit almost any time frame, but without a doubt, Saturdays are the most popular.

All our prices include three full meals each day, air-conditioned double rooms, two queen-size beds, private washrooms with shower, cable TV, 110v AC current and plug-ins which are the exact same as in the US, no converters needed. Bring your own hairdryer though, as we don't have complementary hair-dryers, nor coffee makers for that matter. But your laptops, cameras, battery chargers, cell-phones, DVD players, razors, you name it, they all plug-in the exact same as in the US. It's a good idea to bring one of those surge protection power bars for you laptops, cameras, cell phones, etc. Yes, most cell phones will now work at Roatan, but don't tell your boss or receptionist that... Wireless Internet is also available for only $10. for per week.

The seven night package includes transfers to and from the airport. The diving package also includes three boat dives per day, one night dive from the boat per week, and unlimited shore diving.

Non-divers (Snorkelers) are welcome to go out on the dive boats, space permitting, and snorkel around discovering the coral and other sea life, while the divers do their reef-wall exploring. We just ask that the snorkelers please allow the divers to suit up and depart prior to the snorkelers gearing up to go.

Supporting Our Ecosystem

We like to do what we can to help preserve and strengthen the health of our beautiful ocean environment. To accomplish this, we need your help via a $5.00 per guest Marine Park fee. It doesn’t sound like much, but it does a lot. The goal of the Marine Park organization is: "To protect and conserve the natural marine resources of Roatán while enhancing the environment and quality of life within the community through education, creative activity, and service"

●       Airport pick-up and return is included in the 5 and 7 night packages.

Our Seven Night Diving package, includes all the above plus the following:

●       Three boat dives each day.
●       One night-boat-dive each week (typically Thursday).
●       Unlimited shore diving through a beautiful garden of coral.
●       Tanks, weights and weight belts.

■        Please note: For safety reasons, newly certified divers (divers receiving their training within the same week) are not allowed to participate in the night dive unless they have completed a night course with a certified instructor.
