Open Water Diver Course

(The most popular entry-level course to diving in the world)

This qualification gives you the passport to dive anywhere in the world, with anyone who is open water qualified or above. To complete your open water diver certification you will take part in knowledge review sessions alongside shallow water dives. Then you will complete four open water dives (the whole course is conducted over two to three days). Once the course is successfully completed you will receive your certification card giving you your PADI Open Water Diver status.

Part of your training can be started at a local dive training center -- this called a "referral" -- but from past experience, we have found it more beneficial for a training diver to begin all of their training with us, for a few reasons. 1. Not all divers arrive ready for their open water dives even though they have been signed off by the instructor from their local dive shop, so our instructor basically starts at the beginning anyway... not always, but often...  2. You start with our instructor by getting out into the warm Caribbean waters almost right away, under the careful eye of our instructor. Since we are a small, 20 guest resort -- of whom 99% are seasoned divers -- our instructor will have plenty of time with you in a safe and individualized environment. Plus it's a fun environment right from the start. Clear warm water, coral, a sandy ocean bottom, though you won't be very deep to start as our instructor has a special 25 foot deep spot where he works with his students.

Ages from 10 and up

Cost - $350.00 for start to finish, full Open Water training and PADI certification.

Please note: Course fees do not include your open water training pack (Open Water Diver Manual, log book and Recreational dive planner).  You will need to purchase these in plenty of time before your arrival at the resort. Don't worry if you have questions on the material you read, we will go over this in the knowledge review session.

We also recommend that all students purchase their own mask and snorkel for use during the course. A good fit will increase your comfort and enjoyment.

Open Water Referral Course

If you have already completed the Academics and the Confined water dives with another Instructor and wish to do your four qualifying dives with us in the warmth of the Caribbean, then bring with you your log book with verification of your completed training and a referral letter from your instructor verifying that all you have left to do is your open water dives with us, then you can complete your PADI Open Water Certification at The Reef House Resort, where the open water is warm and clear. We will require you to complete a knowledge review and a review of dive skills.

 Cost - $175.00

Advanced Open Water Course

You've passed the Open Water course and now want to expand your experience. The Advanced Open Water course is the next step, allowing you to gain new experiences under the supervision of a PADI Instructor. Advanced Open Water consists of five dives, introducing you to Underwater Navigation and Deep Diving: The two core dives that must be completed and three elective dives.

 Cost - $250.00

Please note: The course fee does not include your Advanced Open Water Crew-pack (Adventures in Diving Manual and Advanced log book). Please purchase these in plenty of time before your arrival at the resort, allowing you to thoroughly read the five dives you have elected to do from the manual and complete the five knowledge reviews. Doing this frees up your precious holiday time from study and allows the fun of the Open Water dives to be enjoyed. Do not worry if you have questions on the material you read, we will go over this in the knowledge review session.

For all courses:

When you purchase your course materials from your local PADI dive center, make sure you bring your receipt or PADI Hologram (found inside the manual) to the resort with you, as new PADI rules require proof of purchase of materials in order to complete your certification. You need only buy one set of materials per family or household.

Core Dive Underwater Navigation

It's nice to be able to find your way back from a dive site without having to surface, to know where you are and which direction you are traveling. This dive teaches you the secret of finding your way around using both compass and natural navigation techniques.

Core Dive Deep

There are good reasons for being able to dive a little deeper in safety, the better wrecks are quite often the deeper ones. This dive introduces you to safe deep diving practices, and the effects of depth.

Night Dive

Everyone’s favorite dive. See the amazing change in a dive site when the sun goes down. Different creatures, and vivid colors are just some of the remarkable transformations that take place.

Boat Dive

The relaxed way to dive without long surface swims or treks across rocky beaches.  Instead, let the boat do all the work. This dive will show you the techniques and protocol employed when boat diving; it's also a good chance to visit a site that you could not reach any other way.

Underwater Naturalist

This dive focuses on the aquatic eco system, you¹ll learn more about the animals and plants that you encounter whilst diving, and how the environment dictates their form and behavior and more importantly how our behavior affects them.

Multilevel Dive

If you dive using the wheel or table, this form of diving will increase your dive times dramatically. Multilevel diving is where you ascend progressively to one or more shallower depths during the same dive extending your bottom time. Perfect for wall dives.

Search and Recovery

No need to despair if you lose bits of kit, after this course you will be familiar with the techniques used to find and recover them again. From watches to anchors (using the correct tools, e.g. lifting bag).

Peak Performance Buoyancy

Polish up your buoyancy control, to a standard far beyond Open Water level, through knowledge development and practical skill sessions.

Drift Diver

Always wanting to see more of an area, but couldn't because you were always stopping to return to a specific area.  Learn to drift dive and see more.  Requires little effort and allows diving even when a strong current is present.

Fish Identification

You will be introduced to the most common families and species of fish found in temperate and tropical waters.  Divers will learn basic fish identification and surveying techniques.

Adventure Diver Course

If you do not have the time or the inclination to do the full Advanced course then we can offer you the PADI Adventure diver course. This course consists of three dives and can be completed in one day. Choose three dives from the Advanced course schedule.

 Cost - $165.00

Specialty Courses

Most of these courses require three dives and can be completed over one or two days of in-water training.

Specialty Course Manual included in the following costs.

$100.00  Emergency First Response with AED

Rescue Diver Course

This course is probably one of our favorites. You will learn self rescue skill’s, how to assist others that may be in difficulty and rescue techniques that hopefully, you will never have to use, but still are very handy to have. To certify as a Rescue Diver you must have completed the EFR and AED course or another sanctioned course in CPR within the last 24 months (You will need to bring a copy of this with you for certification). The course involves shallow water sessions, knowledge reviews and the multiple-choice quiz, followed by open water skill sessions. This course is very rewarding and one we feel is beneficial for all divers.

 Cost - $375.00

Master Scuba Diver

To be awarded the rating of Master Scuba Diver (The highest PADI recreational dive level) you must have completed five specialty ratings, be a Rescue Diver, have completed the EFR course within the last 24 months, and show proof of 50 logged dives. The minimum age is 12 years old, which would result in a junior master scuba diver rating.

Cost - $80.00 Includes processing fee and PADI application fee, no materials necessary.

Dive Master Course

This is the first step on the PADI Professional Ladder. We run this course as an Internship so you will gain more experience. During your course you will work with, and assist, your Instructor. This will help you gain problem solving and accident management skills. As a Dive Master, recreational divers will consider you a role model.

This course is divided into 4 areas: Water Skills, Practical Assessment, in depth Diving Knowledge Development, and Stamina.
